Vintage 1976 Neumann U87 Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone

Up for sale, a First generation (1976) Neumann U87 P48 Large diaphragm Condenser in Excellent condition, with its original shock mount and wood case. This is the one with the battery compartment inside.

Hard to find another one in the same Super Clean condition, no scratches no dents. Serial # 26XXX, all original and in 100% working order. The capsule is original and in great shape. All switches (Pattern selection, Low cut and Pad) are perfectly working. The shock mount is original, most likely the elastic bands can be replacements (which is normal to happen on a +45year old mic). The hardcase is also super clean.

The Neumann U87 is one of the most famous and widely used vocal mic in the world. The original U87 (P48) followed in the footsteps of the remarkable tube U67 (looks pretty much the same). It was one of Neumann’s first FET mics and sounds not dissimilar to its tube predecessor, having a solid, beautifully defined sound that sits easily in the track and it is capable of similar results, particularly when used with a high quality discrete mic preamp.
