Vintage 1968 Fender Deluxe Reverb Drip Edge Silver Face 22-Watt 1×12″ Amplifier

Up for sale, here’s an EXTREMELY clean example of an original (not a reissue) 1968 Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp Silver face (Drip Edge) combo amplifier in Excellent condition with a lots of mojo and recent maintenance, perfectly working.

If you’re familiar with these, you know these early ’68 Silver Face Drip Edge amps still retain the exact AB763 circuit, therefore these are exactly like the Black face amps from ’64 – ’67 with just an upgraded facelift. Fender now makes a reissue of this amp, which sounds close but quite not the same amp.

This ’68 Deluxe Reverb has been played mainly in Studio and regularly serviced. Cosmetically and functionally is above average and all appears to be original with the exception of the tubes and being recapped , adding 3-prong power cord for safety reasons and a current Jensen C12Q Speaker that sounds incredible.

All transformers and pots are dated ’67 – ’68 (one of the transformers even ’66) however it’s printed ’68 date on the chassis which is an indicator this is one of the earlier Silver Face ones. Everything seems original, all original transformers and still retains most of the coveted blue molded caps. The current tubes are new JJ’s Tubes on the power amp section and the Rectifier, plus some NOS RCA and Mullards on the preamp section. The Reverb unit and the Vibrato works perfectly well along with its original 2-button foot switch which.

Aesthetically, there’s only a couple very light marks and a few tiny little dings over the tolex, however it’s definitely one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen for its age. The original grill cloth is in excellent shape with the common discoloration throughout the years with no rips or tears at all, with its four corners of the drip edge in impecable condition. All hardware seems to be all original. The amp sounds super clean and 100% as expected.
