Description
Vintage 1965 Ampeg B-12 Portaflex Tube Bass/Guitar Combo Amp – VERY CLEAN.
Up for sale is a beautiful and increasingly sought-after 1965 Ampeg B-12 Portaflex, the “little brother” to the legendary B-15, featuring the same tube head design but paired with a 12″ square magnet CTS speaker. This classic all-tube bass combo amp was made in the USA during the golden era of Ampeg early Linden, NJ days, and remains in excellent condition for its age.
The B-12 shares its circuitry with the B-15 and B-18 models, renowned for their smooth, warm, low-volume tube tone that became the gold standard for studio recording, sounding really well on Bass as well as Guitars. This particular amp still houses what appears to be all of its original components: transformers, tubes, speaker, tolex, grille, and even the original slipcover. The 12″ CTS speaker dates to 1965, matching the amp’s production period.
This unit is not just a vintage gem but a fully functional piece of amp history. All electronics are original, clean, and operating perfectly. The amp has been extremely well preserved and is ready to deliver rich tube tone for years to come.
Ships out from Miami, Florida to the Continental US only. Local pickup in the Miami area is also available upon request. The amp will be professionally double-boxed, packed with extreme care, and fully insured.
