Vintage 1963 Fender Concert Amp Pre-CBS Blackface 4×10 Combo Amplifier
Up for sale is a rare and highly collectible, transitional 1963 Fender Concert Amp, a true Pre-CBS Blackface era piece featuring the early AA763 circuit and the first generation Black Tolex cabinet style. This example sits right at the beginning of the Blackface period in late ’63 and remains in Very Good condition for its age, showing honest wear while staying remarkably clean for a 60+ year Amp.
The amp is all original with the exception of the speakers. It currently has two 10″ Warehouse Veteran 20 watt speakers paired with two 10″ Eminence speakers, all of which sound great with this circuit. Every transformer, the full chassis, and all the pots are original to the amp and dated ’63. The original Black Tolex and grill cloth are intact, with the grill showing a light parchment area that is barely noticeable. The tube complement is a mix of JJ and Electro Harmonix tubes, all functioning properly.
Besides the speaker change, and a 3 prong power cable, the amp is in perfect functional condition. It operates exactly as it should, with strong output, rich clean headroom, and classic Fender breakup when pushed. The original tremolo works properly and the original footswitch is included and fully functional. The tube complement is a mix of JJ and Electro Harmonix tubes, all working as they should.
This is a great opportunity to own a genuine Pre CBS Blackface Fender Concert that is both a fantastic player amp and an increasingly collectible piece of Fender history, priced realistically for today’s market.
The amp will ship professionally packed and fully insured to Continental US. Some international destinations may be available. Please feel free to check our feedback for packing quality and accurate descriptions.
