Up for sale, a stunning and unique example of the first year of production for the Wurlitzer 206, one of the very earliest examples ever made. The transformer dates to the second week of 1968 production, and the 8-digit key stamp on the keyboard reveals it was manufactured on June 5, 1968 (Batch sequence 078), placing this instrument among the earliest keyboards produced that year.

This level of documentation makes it a genuinely rare piece of vintage keyboard history. Recently given comprehensive professional service by Advanced Music Electronics in Los Angeles, this instrument is ready to perform and inspire.

The 206 is increasingly sought by collectors. Unlike the later 206A, this original 206 retains the same amplifier section and vibrato circuit found on the legendary 200 series, making it equally sonic to the 200 and a superior choice to the later 206A. The key difference from the 200 is the solid base cabinet instead of retractable legs, which gives it a more refined stage presence. Originally marketed to students, the tremolo was disengaged from the factory, however this is actually a feature, not a limitation. The tremolo circuit remains fully functional and easily re-engageable, making this a fantastic platform for players who want to explore the mod. It’s become increasingly popular to reactivate the tremolo on these models due to their beautiful cabinets and capable electronics.
