1993 Fender Guitar Center 29th Anniversary Stratocaster Sunburst – Limited Edition Special Run

Up for sale, here is a very rare 1993 Fender Limited Edition GC 29th Anniversary Stratocaster in Sunburst, a special run built exclusively for Guitar Center, very hard to find on the market today.

While final assembly took place in Mexico, the body contours, routing and construction closely match the American made Fenders of the period, particularly the California Series Strats, and we believe most of the parts were actually manufactured in Corona, California. Its appointments read much closer to an American Vintage reissue than a typical Mexican Strat, and the quality and feel reflect that.

The body is solid alder with genuine figured maple on the top and back, a real flamed maple and not the photographic Foto Flame of the era, finished in polyester with swimming pool routing. The maple neck features a slab rosewood fingerboard, 21 vintage style frets, white dot inlays and a vintage style truss rod, with a small headstock and spaghetti logo waterslide decal applied over the finish. Electronics consist of three Custom Tex-Mex Strat single coils with a 5-way switch, master volume, tone and TBX control. Hardware includes a vintage style tremolo, Gotoh Kluson style tuners, a wing string tree and an 11-hole mint green pickguard, while the 4-bolt neck plate bears the Guitar Center logo and “29th Anniversary Limited Edition” stamp, a key detail for collectors of this run.

The condition is Excellent near Mint. The guitar comes housed in an aftermarket Tweed hardshell case.

It ships out professionally packed and fully insured to Continental US and select international destinations.
