1990 Fender American Vintage ’57 Stratocaster Surf Green

Up for sale, here’s an incredible Fender AV’57 Stratocaster in a rare for the era Surf Green, USA made in 1990 at the Corona, CA factory.

8.0 Lbs.

An incredible 1957 Stratocaster reissue, all appears to be original in Very Good condition, with ALL the case candy (tags, tremolo bar, bridge cover, leather strap, tremolo spring cover with screws and extra 5-way switch (unused, these came with a 3-way switch like the originals, but was offered on the case candy). All including its original Tweed hard case.

The Surf Green has beautifully aged, it looks stunning in person. It comes with the era correct 1-ply white pickguard and Maple fingerboard, a killer combination.

The instrument has been definitely used, has light to moderate play wear, patina all over the body, it definitely adds some really cool mojo to it. Because of the thin nitro cellulose lacquer finish you can see lots of checking, discoloration areas, and some honest nicks and dings, something that you can never replicate or relic that well. There’s one notisceable chip at the bottom of the body over the edge however it’s just cosmetically, there’s absolutely no crack in the wood and it does not affect at all the playability of the guitar. The instrument plays amazingly well, it definitely sounds as close to a late ’50s Stratocaster, and probably even closer than some Fender Custom Shops.

It will be professionally packed, shipped & insured to continental US only. Free local pickup in LA is also welcome.
