1970’s Ovation Tornado 1231-1 USA Storm Series Sunburst Brown

Up for sale, a rare vintage early 1970’s (hoard to confirm the exact year but it appears to be ’71 – ’73 according to the Serial #) UUSA made Ovation Tornado 1231-1 Storm Series Hollow Body electric guitar in Very Good condition condition for its age with its original black tolex hard case.

Weighting at 7.0 Lbs, this guitar features a semi-hollowbody (sort of a 335 shape) with what appears to be a Maple body and top with a bolt-on Maple neck with ebony fingerboard and dots inlays. These body and necks were manufactured by Hofner in Germany and shipped to the Ovation US factory to be assembled. It comes with a tail piece style bridge with two Hofner Blade pickups.

The condition is Very Good for its age without any big blemishes. Please be advice that it might have very minimal light marks of usage, however the instrument is in great condition overall, and it has been played or used with the utmost care. The neck is straight and truss rod works both ways. It comes with its original black tolex hard case. It’s been professionally set with low action, with a fresh set of D’addario strings. It plays amazingly well.
