Description
1960s Harmony Meteor H70 Sunburst
Up for sale, here is an early 1960s Harmony Meteor H70 in Sunburst, an extremely clean example, built in Chicago from 1958 to 1966, the Meteor was Harmony’s premier thinline model and found its way into the hands of players like Keith Richards early in his career. Clean examples like this one are very hard to find today.
The Meteor is a fully hollow, single cutaway thinline archtop with Spruce top, laminated maple back and sides, twin f-holes and multi-ply binding. The maple neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets and white block inlays, and the classic “baseball bat” neck carve these guitars are known for. Electronics consist of a pair of original DeArmond gold foil pickups with individual volume and tone controls and a three way selector, delivering that distinctive gold foil sound, with plenty of chime and clarity, warmed up beautifully by the hollow construction.
The guitar is in excellent condition for its age and remains completely all original, including all of its hardware and pickups. It has just been professionally set up with fresh strings and low action, and it plays great. The guitar comes with a new hardshell case.
It ships out professionally packed and fully insured to Continental US and select international destinations.
