Vintage 1973 Fender Musicmaster Bass Olympic White

Up for sale, here’s an awesome 1973 Fender Musicmaster Bass in a stunning, beautiful and original (yellowed) Olympic White finish.

This is a great example of an early ’70s Musicmaster, pretty much all original with the exception of the pickup (a 4-pole piece custom made by The Pickup Wizard, which is a huge upgrade from the 6-pole Stratocaster stock pickup, that is included with the sale), strap buttons and thumbrest that is a reproduction. Other than that everything else seems to be all original.

Beautiful Olympic White body with 3-ply white pickguard. Neck stamp shows clearly ’73, pots are dated 1973 as well. The neck is perfectly straight, typical Maple with rosewood fretboard and pearled dots, super smooth with a nice patina. As usual, some minimal wear through the years. Truss rod works perfectly smooth as it should. Frets are original and I think they still have plenty of life, no fret issues whatsoever. it really plays like a dream with lots of mojo.

The 30″ scale brings some magic, same as his brother: the Mustang Bass, Beside the fact it was intended to be a “student” type of instrument, over the years it became a secret weapon for many session musicians because of a unique sound. Think of a P-Bass that is in between a Jazz Bass and a Precision Bass, right in the middle, that sits through the mixes in a VERY unique way.

The instrument is in Very good condition, with some moderate wear from the almost 5 decades of usage, there are some small scratches and little dents over the body and the pickguard has a small crack near the input jack, however all these does not affect the playability at all, the instrument is in 100% fully functional condition and in great shape overall. The bass comes with a Fender gig bag (the hard case not he photos is JUST for displaying purposes).
