Description

Vintage 1968 Guild D-40 Sunburst

Up for sale, here’s a vintage 1968 Guild D-40 in Sunburst, a standout vintage dreadnought from Guild’s golden era in Hoboken, NJ. It has honest playwear that adds to its vintage charm, yet the guitar remains structurally sound and plays beautifully.

The neck has been professionally reset, allowing low action and a perfectly straight neck. The guitar has been recently set up, playing beautifully. The top is flat with no hump, ensuring excellent resonance and sustain. The nut appears to have been replaced, while all tuners remain original and fully functional.

This vintage D-40 features a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, paired with an original Brazilian Rosewood bridge fitted with a bone saddle. The back is crafted from Honduras Mahogany, the neck is made from mahogany with a maple stringer, consistent with Guild’s golden-era construction.

The guitar ships in a really cool Epiphone hard case, which is solid and works great. All original aside from the neck reset and nut replacement, this D-40 offers classic Guild warm tone, with that vintage dreadnought punch. Perfect for players seeking a vintage, playable instrument, or collectors looking for a golden-era Guild in excellent condition.

It ships out to Continental US and select international destinations.
