Vintage 1966 Fender Mustang Olympic White

Up for sale, here’s an incredible Player’s grade Original 1966 Fender Mustang guitar in its original Olympic white finish with a really cool Mojo and patina.

8.0 Lbs, 24″ scale version of the early January ’66. “F” neck plate with low serial # 120XXX.

When it comes to “Players” instruments, it means you’re gettin a true vintage guitar that has been really well played for years from diverse stages to smoking bars, and might’ve been slightly modded but still keeping the core of the sound and usually price accordingly lower and most of the cases sounds so much better, compared to another similar that is a “Closet queen”. Definitely not for the collector, however can be incredible for someone looking to get a real deal vintage one at a very competitive price (just a little more than a newer American made).

The entire guitar still preserves its original finish all over it. A stunning yellowed Olympic White with tons of checking, play wear and patina with its original tortoise shell pickguard and white pickup covers. Neck it’s a slab board rosewood (common on ’65 and ’66) with its also original finish. The guitar is mainly original with the exception of new Seymour Duncan Antiquity II pickups (Brand new ’65 Mustang set, much better than the originals), newer Schaller tuners, brass nut and an added 3-way pickup switch with obvious routing under the Pickguard (decent job, you’ll never see it). The original two blade switches are still present and bypassed and could be easily rewired back if you want. The 3-way configuration makes the guitar realistically more practical for studio and live use, low noise and just more usable in my humble opinion. Again, you can still reverse to the blade switches.

The whole control plate is original, with original matching ’66 CTS pots and orange dime capacitor, jack and original knobs. Original tremolo bridge is functioning perfect.

The neck pocket is super tight, truss rod works perfect. Frets are original and besides they have a considerable play wear, still have life ahead. It comes with an aftermarket Tweed case in excellent condition.

This is a great opportunity to get a real vintage ’66 Mustang that plays great with tons of mojo at an affordable price tag.
