Description

This is an incredible 1965 P-Bass, a keeper. All appears to be original, excepts body only refinished by Fiesta Finishes. I got to say tree-tone sunburst is to me the hardest to reproduce and honestly this is probably the only one i have ever seen that the black fading into the red and clear coat blends and looks really authentic to the point that at first sight i could not believe it was a refinished instrument.

Featherweight: 7.8 Lbs and well balanced, which is very rare.

Check all the photos. I can provide more photos, audios or videos upon request through the message area.

(5 JUL 65 C stamped on the neck – L96XXX, Pots dated 20th week of ’65, pickups dated 8-11-65). One of the last L-Series, meaning that even though it’s an early CBS instrument still remains with most of the pre-CBS era features. It comes with its original black tolex hard case (which is in very good condition for its age and functional), bridge ashtray and what appears to be a repro thumb rest. The nitrocellulose tortoise shell is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen with a vivid and texturized pattern that you can only find on the pre-CBS era instruments and it’s in excellent shape without any cracks.

The neck is something else. Typical flamed Maple with a beautiful rosewood fretboard and pearl dots, reverse tuners and transition logo, super smooth, slim and typical 1,73″ nut width and .80” neck thickness at 1st fret (which means on the slimmer side). Frets have normal wear but still have plenty of life left. It really plays amazing throughout the whole fretboard without any fret issues at all. The neck is perfectly straight with truss rod fully functional. It’s strung with a fresh set of D’addario Chromes flatwotunds and it plays like a dream.

It’ll be professionally packed and insured to Continental US only. Local pickup in LA is also available at no cost.

DISCLAIMER: This instrument has been described as best as possible and by the several photos (most cases even with audio & video) and specs provided by the manufacturer on the listing, you are acknowledging the most accurate state and condition of a “Vintage players grade” 1965 Fender Precision Bass refin at a competitive market price. If you have any concern about a detail, specs, cosmetic condition or, you happen to be the kind of person with a very sensitive distinction about what “Mint/Excellent/Very Good/Good” applies for a used item like this, i’d be more than happy to share and clear out any concerns before the purchase and shipping, just message me. I usually ship out fast, professionally packed and insured (tracking the progress with photos, my reputation speak by itself). Therefore, unless the item would arrive in different condition than described such as physically damaged or non functional, any return request based on your consideration over the specs, cosmetic condition of the item or simply because you simply “like another one better than this one” would not be a valid reason for a return, without exceptions. By purchasing the instrument in any way you understand and agree on this is a final sale.
