Vintage Pre-CBS 1963 Fender Precision Bass Fiesta Red Refinished

Up for sale, here’s a really amazing players grade 1963 Fender Precision Bass, built starting from a real vintage 1963 Pre-CBS Fender Precision bass neck with its corresponding Serial # neck plate, with an incredible (Pino’s look) Fiesta Red MJT body with also corresponding 1963 Pre-CBS real Nitrocellulose Tortoise shell pickguard.

8.0 Lbs. 5 FEB 63 C stamped on the neck (5=Model code, FEB 63=M/Y of manufacture, C=neck profile). You won’t find another similar vintage piece at this price point. This is priced for the player, someone who may consider a Custom Shop but knows the real deal is far better than the CS.

The neck is a to die for, Slim to medium, with an incredible Veneer dark Brazilian Rosewood, it has a nice refret with the same vintage specs by one of the top Guitar luthiers in LA. It plays amazing all the way. The neck has been professionally refinished  with period correct Nitrocellulose and a new era correct decal logo. It still preserves its original clay dots, nut and string tree. Tuners are Gotoh Res-O-Lite Nickel aged. The neck stamp is still visible. Truss rod turns flawlessly both ways. It plays like butter, just like what you would expect from an early ’63 P neck.

The body is an earlier Ash MJT in relic’d Fiesta Red slightly translucid, super lightweight (4lbs 6 Oz), Unlike the later ones this has all the curves like the originals (not too sharp) and it was slightly routed the pickup cavities to house the pickups shield plate (newer MJT comes like that already). The Nitro Tortoise shell, as well as the thumb rest are the actual ones that came with the ’63 neck, neck plate and screws (Serial 96XXX), it’s in EXCELLENT condition without any cracks whatsoever. Pickups are new Fender Pure Vintage ’63 and the wiring harness is custom made by Legend Tone using the same early ’60 spec capacitor. Bridge is a Gotoh Nickel aged and the knobs are real vintage from a 1968 Precision Bass.

The case is an unbranded but vintage black tolex that matches the whole vibe. The bass has been professionally set allowing low action and it ships out with a new set of D’addario Chromes Flatwounds.

Everybody that grabs this bass fell in love instantly and you will too, the neck is the core, with the vibe of an instrument that was made on the Fender pre-CBS golden era, with plenty of mojo and real vintage feel.
