Up for sale, and incredible and lightweight Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass V (5 strings) in Very Good condition. Made in Corona, CA USA in 1997 during the John Suhr era, with the Original and common on this era Suhr single pole split coil pickups and the active 3-Band EQ preamp that gives you a variety of tasteful Jazz Bass tones.

9.3 lbs, which is pretty lightweight for a Jazz Bass V.

With a truly classic look, a gorgeous 3-Tone Sunburst finish with a tortoise shell pickguard and rosewood fingerboard. Alder body with strings through body, with an upgraded Hipshot A-Style Bridge (which is a direct replacement, no extra drilling needed and a great improvement). The bass is mainly all original with the exception of the bridge and the case, which is an SKB freedom hard molded case in pretty clean condition with all latches working and fully functional.

It has a slim Modern “C” Profile with 1.89″ nut width. A beautiful piece of Maple with satin finish and Rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays and Gotoh tuners, very smooth to play. The neck is perfectly straight (truss rod works perfect as expected) and without any fret issues, currently set low very comfy with a fresh set of D’addario Nickel .045 – .130″  and it really plays wonderful.

With multiple transitions thorough the years, the American Deluxe Series have been what Fender later renamed as “American Elite” and currently “American Ultra”. With very minimal differences these all have the same price point on the Fender product line above the American Standards/Professionals, well known for being super solid and reliable workhorse for pros, getting the traditional Jazz Bass tone with some really cool and premium features.

This one in particular is one of its kind, has some honest play wear, moderate level of scratches and/or light marks over the body and neck due to its age, however the instrument still in great condition overall and nothing that affects the playability or functionality at all.
