Description

1982 Fender Telecaster Black w/Rosewood Fretboard – 7.4 Lbs!

Up for sale, here’s an incredible looking and rare late ’70s/early ’80s Dan Smith era Fender Telecaster in Black finish with Rosewood neck in Very Good+ condition.

Super lightweight at 7.4 Lbs. Pretty well balanced.

As usual on these Fender years, S8xxxxx Serial Number. Pots dated ’78, grey bottom pickups dated ’82 and Neck stamp dated ’82. Fender had several necks with bodies paired that were assembled years later. Very common to find these instruments with S7, S8 and S9 serial numbers that were actually assembled even 2 or 3 years later. It’s very common to find this pattern in several fender instruments on these years. with combined late ’70s and early ’80’s appointments such as Ash body, Maple neck with skunk stripe and truss rod cup at the headstock, F tuners, bridge with individual saddles. All parts appears to be original except from the newer Fender Black tolex hard case and replaced back string ferrules on the back of the body.

Cosmetically, the guitar shows some normal play wear for a +40 year old instrument, with some surface level marks of usage, minimal buckle rush, scratches, and little dings over the body and neck however none of these would really affect the playability of the instrument at all. The Instrument is in Very Good+ condition and it’s been used with the utmost care, Truss rod works great and the neck is straight. Frets have moderate wear however there are no fret issues whatsoever. it’s been professionally set with a fresh set of D’addario Nickel strings and it really plays and sounds fantastic.

It’ll be professionally packed and fully insured to Continental US only. Local pickup in LA is also available at no cost.
