1980 Ibanez Studio ST-50 Sunburst – Crafted in Japan

Up for sale, a vintage 1980 Ibanez Studio ST-50 in Sunburst finish, Crafted in Japan in Very Good condition.

All original. The Studio Series were introduced in 1979 are fine instruments made in the period where Ibanez craftsmanship was in its peak. 25.5″ scale, Mahogany body, set neck 3-piece Rock Maple neck with Rosewood fretboard and dot inlays (24 frets). If the Artist Series were often compared to the Gibson Les Paul, the Studio Series can be comparable to Gibson SGs sonically, but with the larger scale (same than a Fender for example).

Pickups are Ibanez V2 Humbucker with 3-way toggle switch. Ibanez nickel Gibraltar bridge and slotted tailpiece. Controls are Master volume and Master Tone.

The neck is perfectly straight (truss rod works great), currently professionally set with a fresh set of D’addario Nickel. It plays really smooth.

Cosmetically, The guitar is in very good condition considering its age. It has some obvious patina (nickel hardware has aged really nice), little dings, marks, scratches and edge wear (there are two chips over each of the two horns). Fretwise, these are original with some wear however still with some good life left. Other than that, the guitar is in great condition overall and in 100% fully functional,  It comes with a Line 6 brand deluxe gig bag.
