1965 Gibson ES-175D Cherry Sunburst with Original Hard Case

For your consideration, an incredible and vintage 1965 Gibson ES-175D in Cherry Sunburst with its original hard case. All original, Serial # 368515 out of the Kalamazoo factory.

This guitar came from the family of his original owner Horacio Malvicino, who passed away last year. Horacio Malvicino was an Argentine Guitar Player and Composer, best known for popularizing bebop in Argentina, and for his work with Astor Piazzolla. Throughout his career, Malvicino explored diverse genres, including jazz, bossa nova and tango. This guitar is particularly one of the most treasured instruments from his collection.

The guitar appears to be All Original, with all the appointments you can expect from a ’65 Gibson ES-175D with the unique Cherry Sunburst (which was used in a small numbers in this model), extremely resonant Maple hollowbody with Mahogany neck and a beautiful and dark Brazilian rosewood fretboard, Brazilian rosewood bridge with its distinctive tailpiece and their original pair of Patent No. Sticker humbucker pickups. The pickup switch tip has been replaced with an another one however the original one is in the case along with one of Malvicino’s picks. The Original case is in Good shape with just one broken latch, nevertheless still fully functional.

Aesthetically the guitar is in Very Good condition for its age and there are absolutely no cracks nor repairs whatsoever. There is plenty of light marks of usage, checking, patina and edge wear. Frets have moderate play wear although the guitar still plays incredibly well as you can expect from a vintage Gibson instrument.
