Vintage 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb Black Face 22-Watt 1×12″ Amplifier
Up for sale, here’s a clean example of an original (not a reissue) 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb Black face combo amplifier in great condition with a lots of mojo and recent maintenance, working in perfect condition.
If you’re familiar with these, you know these black face amps from ’64 – ’67 are the real deal, made int he pinnacle of the Fender years. Fender now makes a reissue of this amp, which sounds close but quite not the same amp.
This ’65 Deluxe Reverb has been definitely played and acquired some substantial mojo over the years. Functionally is in perfect working condition. All is original with the exception of the tubes, recapped and a 3-prong power cord for safety reasons. Two of the Schumacher transformer have the year digit “9”, which indicates these could’ve been ’59 or ’69, in which case these would’ve been factory replaced for the exact same Schumacher era correct.
Original Utah Speaker. The remaining transformer and the pots are dated ’65, the chasis is also dated ’65. Everything else seems original, including its black tolex and front fill cloth with te right and predictable discoloration through the years. The current tubes are JJ Ruby tubes on the Rectifier, Tung-Sol on the power amp and JJ’s on the Preamp section. The Reverb unit and the Vibrato works perfectly well along with its original 2-button foorswitch.
Aesthetically, there’s only a few tiny dings over the tolex, and there’s a tiny little rip on the grill cloth. Otherwise is pretty clean for its age and in excellent and fully working condition. All hardware seems to be all original. The amp sounds clean and 100% as you can expect from this iconic amp.
As you can imagine, Local pickup in LA is much preferred. Although we can ship it out to Continental US as an option
