Description

1966 Gibson ES-120T Sunburst

Up for sale, here is a wonderful 1966 Gibson ES-120T in classic Sunburst, a full hollowbody in a thin depth from Gibson’s golden Kalamazoo era. The body is made of Laminated Maple for the top, back and sides, paired with a one-piece mahogany neck and what appears to be Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard.

The ES-120T has become a favorite among players and collectors. Unmistakable mid ’60s Gibson build quality, all at a price point that remains one of the best values in vintage Gibson today.

Original finish, with the Sunburst still showing great depth and color, and it is free of any cracks or repairs. The electronics are completely original and unmolested, including the single coil pickup and pots dated 1966. Because it is a fully hollow instrument with F hole pm top, there is a lovely open, airy quality to the tone both plugged in and unplugged.

The guitar is all original. excepts from newer tuners and an ABR-1 bridge, which is a welcome upgrade that provides much more accurate intonation than the original setup. At some point a newer strap button was added, and a small screw covers the previous hole, which is barely noticeable. Other than that, the guitar is in excellent condition throughout and presents beautifully for its age.

Weighing in at just 5.6 lbs, this is an incredibly comfortable instrument to play for hours on end. It has just received a fresh setup with brand new strings and plays beautifully all the way up the neck.

The guitar ships in a new SKB hardshell case, professionally packed and fully insured to Continental US and select international destinations.
