1993 Gibson Les Paul Standard Cherry Sunburst 1960 Spec Inspired Upgrades.

Up for sale, here’s a beautifully preserved example of a 1993 Gibson Les Paul Standard in Cherry Sunburst, wearing all of its original body finish. The guitar is in Very Good+ condition overall, with only the expected play wear and some buckle rash that come with a working instrument of this age. No breaks, no cracks, no signs of any structural distress whatsoever. The truss rod works flawlessly in both directions, original frets are in good shape overall, and the neck is dead straight.

What makes this particular example stand out is a thoughtfully curated set of upgrades inspired by the 1960 Les Paul Standard, all of which enhance playability and tone while leaving the body and finish completely intact and original. The electronics have been fully reimagined with a set of Home Wrecker PAF pickups installed in new cream pickup rings and matching pickguard and plug plate, a 1960-spec wiring harness loaded with Sprague capacitors, a newer pickup switch with aged tip, and a set of period-correct 60s knobs. A set of Kluson Deluxe aged tuners, and the headstock wears a black truss rod cover, black control cavity cover and black pickup switch cavity cover. The result is a guitar that plays and sounds like it belongs in a different decade, in the best possible way. Some of the remaining stock parts such as pickup rings, pickguard, knobs, brown control & pickup switch covers, metal jack plate, tuners, bridge w/stoptail & studs, wiring harness with pickup switch are included in the sale.

Built in 1993, this guitar falls in what collectors and players regard as Gibson’s good wood era, a period recognized for quality mahogany and maple selection that translates directly into resonance, weight distribution, and sustain that makes these instruments so sought after today.

One small cosmetic note: there is a sticker over the neck joint area that can be removed and honestly adds a bit of character in the meantime.
