1997 Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 5H Natural Finish, Rosewood Fretboard

Up for sale is an outstanding example of a late-’90s Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 5H, finished in a beautiful Natural gloss over a figured ash body, with a rosewood fretboard. Made in San Luis Obispo, California in 1997, this is the real deal—not to be confused with the import StingRay34 models.

10.0 lbs – right in line with the classic Ash body StingRays before the introduction of lighter body woods in the newer StingRay Special series.

This StingRay features a stunning flamed ash body paired with a one-piece birdseye Maple neck and a dark rosewood fretboard. The neck is straight, smooth, and very comfortable, offering excellent playability and allowing for low action. It’s equipped with the classic Music Man humbucking pickup, a powerful and versatile 3-band active EQ, and a 3-way toggle switch for added tonal flexibility. The look is completed with a 3-ply black pickguard and original black knobs, all 100% stock with no modifications.

The bass has been gently used and very well taken care of. It shows only minor signs of wear, light buckle rash and natural patina, adding just the right amount of vintage mojo. It’s in excellent condition overall, with no major blemishes and no functional issues. The bass has been professionally set up and plays like a dream.

Ships in an aftermarket black tolex hard case (also in excellent condition).
