1979 Ibanez PF300 Performer Series Black (Set Neck) Made in Japan

For sale is a fantastic 1979 Ibanez PF300 from the Performer Series, crafted at the legendary Fujigen factory in Japan. This is the set-neck version, not the more common bolt-on, making it one of the higher-end models in the lineup and highly sought after by collectors and players alike.

This example is in excellent condition, and has just been professionally set up with low action and great playability. It features a mahogany body with a carved maple top and a bound ebonized rosewood fingerboard on a set maple neck, delivering warm, full tones with excellent sustain and clarity.

It retains all of its original parts, including the highly regarded Ibanez Super 70 humbuckers, known for their articulate and dynamic vintage tone. The only exception is the custom-made black pickguard, which was professionally crafted to fit the original footprint.

The guitar weighs 9.4 lbs, which is actually on the lighter side for this model, as PF300s are typically known for being heavier. It feels balanced and comfortable whether standing or sitting.

Also included is the original Ibanez molded hard shell case, which is in superb condition and a rare bonus in its own right.

This is a truly impressive vintage Japanese instrument with real stage and studio potential, and it’s getting harder to find clean, set-neck PF300s like this one.
