Vintage 1973 Ampeg B-115 2-Channel 1×15″ 120 Watts Bass Combo Amp
Up for sale, here’s one of the best kept secrets for Studio Recording Bass Amps, an incredible and rare to find Ampeg B-115 Bass combo Amp made in the Magnavox era in the USA in Very Good+ condition.
Do not get confused with later/current BA-115 models, this B-115 has nothing to do. These is essentially a Sold State version of the famous B-15N Fliptop. It does sound different comported to the iconic B-15 sound, which is mainly focussed on theMid-Range and Tube sounding character, moreover this B-115N sounds fuller and bigger (it’s a 120 Watts RMS Amp) with a ported 1×15″ original EV speaker, and unlike many of the current solid state or modern Class D amps from nowadays, this definitely has a fast transient attack while keeping the dynamic range and lots of headroom. It’s been built like a tank, and having the same architecture in some way like the B-15 and SVT’s. Its 2 channel disdain allows you to bridge both channels and take advance of the two parallel signals, and its Preamp Output on the back panel sounds incredibly well, studio quality.
The Amp is in Excellent shape for its age, it’s pretty much All Original with its dolly cart (which is detachable and in excellent shape), and even its Original Manual Brochure with Manual and tags. The only thing has been replaced for security reasons is the 3 prong power cord. Aesthetically, the amp is in great shape overall with the tolex and grill cloth in great shape overall.
The amp has been really well preserved for its age and it’s ready to be played for many years to come.
As you can imagine, Local pickup in LA is much preferred. Although shipping out to Continental US is an option. Feel free to check the reviews, The amp will be professionally double boxed, packed and fully insured. Please keep in mind this takes a lot of time, dedication and some good quality supplies for packing an item like this (fairly heavy and delicate) hence the shipping cost.
