1988 Paul Reed Smith PRS Standard 24 Multi-Foil Blue
Up for sale, one of the rarest and sought after PRS, a 1988 Standard 24 in Multifoil (Blue) finish, All original with its original hard case. As you might know, not only this came out from the PRS golden years, it’s a historic piece due to the fact these came out literally in a handful of instruments between 1987-88. This particular guitar has had two owners, and it was well kept in a recording studio environment throughout the years in Excellent condition, considering how thin and fragile the finish is. The only minor detail is the back tremolo plastic cover with a broken corner, however it does not affect the functionality in any way (barely noticeable actually). The instrument is in great overall condition (100% fully functional) with still plenty of life on the frets and truss rod working both ways. These Multifoil came in different colors such as metal, blue, red and silver. It’s hard to confirm, apparently only 12 of each color were ever made.
All is stock except from the strap lock buttons. This one came with the 5-Way rotary switch and two stock T & B humbuckers. IT also comes with the typical at the time Brazilian rosewood fretboard with 24 frets and moon inlays. It weights 8.1lbs which is lightweight for a PRS. If you’re looking to this, I’m sure you probably know who played one of these and made it so iconic: Gustavo Cerati. In fact PRS made a tribute of his guitar in 2016 that it is far from these originals.
It’ll be professionally packed, fully insured and shipped out to Continental US, and possibly to other international destinations upon request (please message first). Local pickup in LA is also available upon request.
